San Ramon, California, is a city located in Contra Costa County with an estimated population of 75,000. It is the fourth largest city in Contra Costa County. Its name means Saint Raymond in Spanish, and it derives from a Native American livestock herder. Much of San Ramon’s land is currently undeveloped, and the Diablo Mountain rolling hills embosom its view. And though much of the property around the city’s perimeter is still undergoing growth, the town is predominantly urban with many new housing developments in progress.
The undeveloped areas are beautiful, green grasslands and ancient red oak trees that residents enjoy seeing year-round. When visiting San Ramon, there are plenty of options for everyone in the family to explore. The Museum of San Ramon Valley features the history of the city and the surrounding areas. For golf enthusiasts, the San Ramon Royal Vista Golf Course is a beautifully maintained 18 hole course for players of all experience levels. There is also the Black Hawk Automotive Museum for anyone who wants to admire classic vintage cars. With more than 90 vehicles available, they have a vast assortment of car-related memorabilia, including anti-gas pumps, jukeboxes, and even a John F. Kennedy limo.
